چکیده
P This paper presents and validates a new local to global (L2G) FEM approach that can analyze multiple, interactive fracture processes in 2D solids with improved numerical efficiency robustness. The method features: 1) forming problems for individual cracks; 2) parallel solving returning solutions as part of the trial solution iteration. It has been demonstrated analytically (through simple 1D problem) numerically several benchmarking examples) that, proposed substantially improve robustness process significantly reduce costly iteration convergence. improvement is up 20 ∼ 40% mildly unstable problems. For severely crack initiation propagation, be more significant. readily applicable other popular methods such extended (X-FEM), Augmented (A-FEM) Phantom-node (PNM).

An Arbitrary Lagrangian-eulerian Finite Element Method for Large Deformation Analysis of Elastic-viscoplastic Solids
Analysis of large deformation of elastic-viscoplastic materials has been performed in this paper using the finite element method with the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian description. An overstress type viscoplastic model using the internal variable approach in a rotated stress-strain space characterizes the material. Stable and efficient integration techniques for the viscoplastic relations are d...
متن کاملModified Fixed Grid Finite Element Method in the Analysis of 2D Linear Elastic Problems
In this paper, a modification on the fixed grid finite element method is presented and used in the solution of 2D linear elastic problems. This method uses non-boundary-fitted meshes for the numerical solution of partial differential equations. Special techniques are required to apply boundary conditions on the intersection of domain boundaries and non-boundary-fitted elements. Hence, a new met...

متن کاملfinite element analysis and footprint determination of a bias truck tire under vertical static load using global/local method
afinite element model of a bias truck tire under static vertical load using a global/local technique is designed in two parts. in the first part a previously created model for radial tires is developed to take the constructional variables of bias tires into account. it is shown that the technique can successfully be used for bias tires. the main challenge here is the selection of the initial la...
